The AT-VM95EN has a nude elliptical diamond. The construction of the stylus, consisting of a one-piece diamond with a round shaft inserted into the cantilever, creates a lighter and stiffer transmission system than a diamond tip on a round titanium shaft as in the AT-VM95E. Also the use of this diamond implies a responsible price difference, but the quality of the reproduction will be immediately noticed in the sound quality, especially in the fidelity of high frequencies and in the responsiveness of the needle.

Every cartridge diamond stylus wears out after a period of play. About 500 hours for a conical stylus, 300 hours for an elliptical stylus, 1000 hours for a microlinear stylus and 800 hours for a Shibata stylus.

The Audio Technica VM95 series dual moving magnet cartridges can be used almost forever by replacing the interchangeable stylus. There is no longer any need to purchase a complete cartridge when your diamond wears out, you can just buy the matching replacement stylus, but also enjoy the experience of upgrading your cartridge with another stylus.

The six models of the VM95 Series cartridges all use the same electromagnetic motor housing, therefore each of the six replacement styli are perfectly compatible.

Compatibility of the AT-VM9E series with the AT-XP series DJ cartridges
The XP Series Electromagnetic Motor Housing is fully compatible with all VM95 Series replacement styli and will provide more output voltage than the VM95 Series cartridge. So improved compatibility with phono inputs of professional DJ mixers.
The VM95 Series Electromagnetic Motor Housing is also compatible with the three replacement styli of the DJ Cartridge AT-XP Series, however the XP Series Electromagnetic Motor Housing will provide more output voltage than the VM95 Series Cartridge to provide a ​​providing better compatibility with phono inputs of professional DJ mixers.
Please note that the typical tracking force when using XP Series styli is three grams, as opposed to two grams for VM95 Series styli.
The suspension design and compliance of the XP Series styli are optimized for intensive DJing, including possible manual cueing and back-cueing.

Elliptical nude stylus
The elliptical diamond stylus tracks groove modulation with greater precision compared to a conical stylus, providing improved frequency and phase responses while reducing distortion.

No use of bolts
The VM95 series cartridges have two threaded M2.6 inserts that allow the cartridge to be installed onto the tonearm or removable headshell without nuts. Each cartridge includes a pair of 8mm M2.6 screws, a pair of 11mm M2.6 screws and two plastic washers.
