Even if "The Gilded Palace of Sin" did not reach the Top 200 of the US charts, this album is still one of the important releases of 1970s rock. Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman continue to follow the same direction as they did with the Byrds. They made country cool by fusing traditional currents like folk and country with gospel, soul and psychedelic rock. It's no coincidence that Rolling Stone Magazine named "The Gilded Palace of Sin" one of the 500 most important albums of all time in 2012.
The remastering for Intervention Records was done by Kevin Gray. The 33 1/3 rpm LP was pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
