iFi audio xDSD Gryphon

The iFi Audio xDSD Gryphon stands out as a top-quality portable HD DAC and headphone amplifier, specifically designed for both mobile and home use. This model, succeeding the xDSD from 2018, has undergone significant improvements over its award-winning predecessor. With a slightly larger and heavier casing, significantly upgraded technical specifications, new features, and an advanced fully balanced dual-mono audio design borrowed from the flagship iDSD Diablo model, the Gryphon marks a significant evolution. Additionally, innovations have been implemented with the PureWave power supply, a new OptimaLoop negative feedback system, and the CyberSync CyberDrive volume control for software, collectively enhancing the sound quality substantially.

The device features a new design with a sturdy, metallic-gray casing that is less prone to fingerprints and includes a convenient OLED display for immediate visualization of settings. The Gryphon is versatile, offering wide compatibility with various headphones, including ultra-sensitive in-ears and challenging to drive over-ear and planar models, in both single-ended and balanced configurations. Thanks to advanced technologies like the improved xBass II, xSpace, and iEMatch, the Gryphon delivers exceptional sound quality and an optimal listening experience.

For digital signal processing, the Gryphon utilizes a premium DAC from Burr-Brown, with a jitter-free Femto Global Master Clock, largely based on the technology from the Pro iDSD Signature. This enables the device to support PCM up to 32 bit-768kHz, native DSD up to DSD512, and full MQA unfolding for the ultimate sound quality, especially with the Tidal Master collection.

In terms of connectivity, the Gryphon offers a range of options, including 3.5mm and 4.4 Pentaconn connectors, a 3.5mm S/PDIF optical and coaxial combo connection, and two USB-C 3.0 ports for audio input and charging. It comes with an extensive package of cables for maximum versatility and supports Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connectivity with a variety of codecs for the best possible wireless sound quality.
