In the portable audio world, the hip-dac 3 from iFi audio stands out. As the successor to the hip-dac 2, now in a Titanium Shadow aluminum casing, this DAC/headphone amplifier offers a blend of timeless elegance with a hint of modern sophistication. Its internal makeover includes improvements such as new metal film capacitors for better frequency response and an updated GMT circuitry design which further reduces phase noise, resulting in a purer sound.
With two USB-C ports, one for audio and the other for charging, the hip-dac 3 simplifies cable management. The robust aluminum housing conceals a powerful 16-core XMOS microcontroller which, together with the Burr-Brown DAC, ensures optimal performance and sound quality.
The hip-dac 3 features a true balanced circuit design and high-quality components, which leads to a purer sound for your headphones.
Designed to accommodate a wide range of headphones and earphones with technologies like PowerMatch and iEMatch, the device enhances compatibility and the listening experience. It supports hi-res PCM and DXD audio up to 384kHz, alongside DSD and full MQA decoding, making the hip-dac 3 a versatile partner for all audio formats.
