The Performance Ethernet cable is specially designed for the transmission of high-quality digital sound. This cable enables the transmission of high-quality digital sound between networked Ethernet components and is ideal for HD audio streamer applications up to 24 bit/192kHz. At QED, they have found that reducing jitter or timing errors in the digital signal produces a cleaner audio reproduction, and this also applies to Ethernet. The Performance Ethernet cable meets the CAT 6 UTP specification and has a bandwidth of 250 MHz, making it suitable for the latest high-quality digital audio.
Performance Ethernet cable features and benefits include 8/8 RJ45 gold-plated connectors, stranded 24AWG 99.999% OFC copper conductors, and gold-plated 8/8 RJ45 plugs to maintain low insertion loss rates over the life of the cable by minimizing signal reflections and contact resistances low. The cable has a 100 ohm characteristic impedance and offers a high bandwidth of up to 250 MHz, which is more than sufficient for HD Audio streamer applications.
